Seen and not seen” – Architecture that withdraws, yet reveals everything
Muraba Veil is more than just a building.
It is architectural composition that feels subtle, floating, and almost immaterial. Rather than relying on monumental mass, the project unfolds like a veil: protective, structured, and at the same time permeable. The eponymous veil façade is inspired by the natural forces of the region – wind, sand, and the ever-changing desert light.
Formally referencing traditional Mashrabiyas, it filters sunlight and heat, reduces direct radiation, and creates a captivating play of shadows and transparency.
This architectural skin is both functional and poetic: it enables natural cross-ventilation, shields against desert sand, and regulates the microclimate of the interior spaces – a conscious approach to working with the elements rather than against them. Muraba Veil demonstrates how architecture can harmoniously combine aesthetic vision, sustainability, and functionality.
